 Getting Your House In Order

Getting Your House in Order, a new model for culturally specific financial education created by African Americans for African Americans. GYHIO is a five-week financial literacy course that creates a safe place where African Americans talk authentically. The course involves knowledge and skill building around budgeting, saving and financial products. It also encourages reflection on family history, personal identity, community relationships and emotional responses. The course is about building knowledge and confidence in a way that is personal, non-judgmental, and deeply informed by African American experiences.
